Hello Everybody!
This is a letter to you that has attended Speech training at Helenas' with computerized Dr Fluency. Furthermore to you, dear self-helper that has attended a PFSP program and/or Comprehensive Stuttering Program elsewhere in the world and shares the same values as we do regarding beneficial goals of therapy. And you, who is struggling with your stuttering, and is positively interested in learning more about the Comprehensive Therapy Program with Precision Fluency Shaping that we have experienced.
My name is Britt-Marie Fraenkel, and for the time being the Chairman of "Flytskaparna" ( Fluency shapers). I am born in 1944 and went to intense treatment, september 1998. A treatment that meant a new life for me! I am working since 25 years as a school welfare officer. My main interest twice a week, the year around is playing Bridge.
Previously to this CSP program I tried traditional speech training, hypnosis and non- avoidance.
Today I am regarding myself as "Stutter-free" even though I do stutter now and then. Thanks to the Speech training with Helena I have received the tools that makes the stuttering no longer being a obstruction of my life. Before treatment for sure it was!
We are a group of nice people that wants to initiate a self-help group for us that has attended stuttering treatment with Helena. The name is "Flytskaparna", and the idea is to create a community of interests. Other recovered stutterers attending other PFSP /CSP programs allover the world are kindly requested to share their positive experiences, encouragements and ideas for a successful maintenance in the long run. Of course, the possibilities of transfer calls where we use our speech targets! We are also prepaired to work as advisers to other PWS that are interested in attending a CSP/PFSP program, and provide information about stuttering and efficient treatment to the public at large and the society.
Most of all, to create a place for us that likes being together making speech exerceises and other positive activities. We will not be competitors, only function as a complement to the Swedish Stammerers Association or the International Stuttering Association (ISA). By all means, you can be a member in all three associations!
Are you interested to share your experiences with us? Maybe you would like to join in? Maybe we could arrange a joint international meeting together in the future?
