Prosodic Voice and Speech Training
In order to develop and establish a fulfilled prosodic pattern, we concentrate on training for a precise coordination between abdominal breathing, phonation and articulation. This skill is the fundamental tool for a fluent and modulated speech. Those prosodic elements are practised step by step for increased fluency. Those principles are used both in speech training for people who stutter ( see: Comprehensice stuttering program including Precision Fluency Shaping Program PFSP) as well as training for people with impaired motor control due to neurologic impairment , for example dysarthria, in order to increase the intelligibility of speech.
The method is also the foundation for teaching and monitoring speech within pronounciation exercises for people learning Swedish as a foreign language. In this part of the prosodic training, we concentrate on the contrasts between the different vowels in the Swedish language in connection with the different consonants as well as the differences of pronounciation between the mother language and Swedish. Efficient training is provided for development of a comprehensive sentence intonation, including informative stress, intonation within clause and phrasing.
